The Greene County boys track and field team placed fifth of five teams at the Boone Classic track and field meet in Boone April 26.
Boone won the meet with 144 points. Other team scores were Webster City 114, Ames 83, Woodward-Granger 52, and Greene County 51.
The 4 X 200m relay was the only event the Rams won; the team’s time was 1:36.22, one-tenth of a second ahead of Webster City.
Second place finishes in the Rams’ score came from Carter Morton in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.67, and Colby Kafer in the 200m dash at 23.60.
Kafer placed third in the long jump with a leap of 19’ 9-1/4”. Colin Reed placed third in the long jump at 5’ 10”, and Brandon Hoyle placed third in the discus with a throw of 125’10”. The 4 X 800m relay placed third in 9:47.97, and the 4 X 100m relay placed third in 46:24.
Caden Wilson was fourth in the discus at 124’’5”. Tyler Teeples was fourth in the 100m dash wit a time of 11:97.
